In October 2025, the salon celebrated its 40th year!  Thank You to everyone who has been to the salon over the years!! We started on the second floor of the building next to where we are located now.  This is a photo from that location. Kevin & I look a few years younger for sure.

February is here! The cold is very much making skin & hair extremely dry, so this is the time to use body lotions, cremes & conditioners for the hair. Taking a few minutes at the end of shower with cooler water,  will help close the pores in the skin avoiding dry skin patches.  The change of temperature in the water also makes the cuticle on the hair lay down, causing a smoother hair strand, resulting in more shinny hair. When applying body oils or body cremes, damp skin will absorbs the product much better and not leave the skin feeling greasy. When applying moisturizer to the hair, first squeeze out water from the hair, then apply a pea/dime size amount of product to hair, avoiding close to scalp. You may use a large tooth-comb at this time if hair is tangled. Rinse out.

Aveda's newest product is Miraculous Oil High- Shine Hair Concentrate. It makes the hair feel 2x smoother.

Scalp Solutions is for scalp care. The line consist of a daily Shampoo & Conditioner, After-shower Mist, once-a-week Exfoliating Treatment & Brush, & an Overnight Serum. The brush feel wonderful on the scalp. More people are experiencing scalp sensitivity issues, from just an itchy scalp to actual flaky buildup. If you are not shampooing each day, make sure you massage the scalp each day to get the blood circulation up to the scalp & follicales.  This line of  products really help. Uptown Looks Salon can do scalp treatments or sell the product, so you can maintain your scalp.   

 Aveda Plus., the rewards program, is much easier to redeem the points now. Uptown Looks Salon can redeem the points for product if available and when in tier 7, you can make a $50.00 service certificate to use in salon. 

  Mario has been busy in the glass studio.There is a wide array of items in the salon that he has made. He is using a lot of "cane" when creating the pieces. The summer of 2025, Mario built a mobile glass studio for SAA, they are planning on taking it on the road. In the fall of 2025, Mario went to Italy to learn chandelier making! He has made two since coming back & the salon has one hanging in the corner. Please come in to see the newest pieces!

* We are open for walk-in retail & visitors!

* Parking is free at the meters until the city replaces the existing parking system! The city checks how long the vehicle is parked, not the amount of money.
